St. John’s Choir Pilgrimage and Evensong Series

Join St. John’s Choir for Evensong on June 10 and 11 at 5:00!        

 In preparation for their choir residency at Durham Cathedral in July, St. John’s Parish Choir will have an intensive weekend of rehearsals and services from June 8th through 11th. There will be Evensong services on Saturday, June 10th and Sunday, June 11th at 5:00 p.m. They will feature Preces and Responses by Bernard Rose, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in B minor by Herbert Howells (Saturday), Magnificat and Nunc dimittis by Ben Parry (Sunday), and anthems by Michael John Trotta, Bob Chilcott, and Will Todd. The choir will also sing a setting of the Mass by Grayston Ives in addition to anthems by Dan Locklair and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck on Sunday morning, June 11th, at the 10:30 service.  The guest organist for the services will be Andrew Scanlon, organist at the Church of the Advent, Boston, who will be traveling to Durham with the choir.
