Our 8:00a service is quiet and contemplative and includes the reading of Scripture, prayers, a sermon, and Holy Eucharist. There is no music at 8a.

10:30a is our main service. We have Holy Eucharist Rite II, a full choir with organ, Scripture, a sermon, and prayers. Children are invited to children’s chapel during the service, and nursery is offered during our program year, which begins the Sunday after Labor Day and concludes the Sunday before Memorial Day. Our 10:30a is livestreamed via Youtube!

Join us in our Chapel (Boston Avenue) for our midweek Eucharist! This 30-minute Holy Eucharist with a brief message is a great way to center yourself in the middle of your week.

We are located off Rivermont Avenue at 205 Elmwood Avenue, Lynchburg, VA, 24503. We love being a part of the Lynchburg, VA, community! Check out a map here. On Sunday morning, enter through the Commons at 205 Elmwood (handicap accessible), or through the church doors at the corner of Boston and Elmwood.
During the week, you may enter through the middle set of doors by ringing the doorbell to the right.

Service times are Sunday 8:00a in person, 10:30a in person and online via YouTube Live. Each service lasts about 60 mins. Plan your visit today.

Kids of all ages are one of our highest priorities at St. John’s. Learn more today about St. John’s Day School and our church kids and youth programs. We offer Sunday School, children’s chapel, and more during our program year from the Sunday after Labor day to the Sunday before Memorial day.

Spiritual Formation
Spiritual Formation groups and classes are one of the key places transformation happens. These are the places where people come together to get connected to one another and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Youth and Children
It is St. John’s desire to see every student reach their full potential in Christ. We want to lead our young people to know Christ deeply and equip them to make Him known in all they do.
Community Life
What does it mean to be a part of the St. John’s Community? Serving God, serving each other, serving the Lynchburg community and serving across the globe is a way of life for parishioners. There is a place for you at St. John’s.
Music
St. John’s has a renowned music program dedicated to glorifying God through the creative arts. We have youth and adult choirs who sing on Sunday morning and for special occassions and concerts throughout the year.
Missions and Outreach
The St. John’s community are the hands and feet of Jesus, serving locally, nationally and globally. We have partnerships across the City of Lynchburg and beyond to serve in Christ’s name.
ST. JOHN’S DAY SCHOOL
At SJDS we encourage children to be actively involved in the learning process by exploring a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials in an environment planned for the child. This means a variety of opportunities to learn in a warm, developmentally appropriate environment.
