St. John’s Choir Pilgrimage and Evensong Series
Join St. John’s Choir on a pilgrimage to England in July!
St. John’s Choir is planning a trip to England this summer. There are a few spots left on the tour bus for singers or non-singers. We will leave Lynchburg on July 15th and return on July 26. Once we arrive in England, we will be travel to Durham, where we will sing services at Durham Cathedral for a week. On most mornings and early afternoons, the group will take an excursion to such attractions as the Beamish Living Museum, a Roman Fort on Hadrian’s Wall, or Bamburgh Castle, before returning to rehearse and sing Evensong in the late afternoon. The choir has a day off from singing on Thursday, which will include a visit to Alnwick Castle and Gardens as well as a visit to Lindesfarne, Holy Island. After the choir finishes the residency, we will visit the fabulous city of York and will ride a historic steam railway through the North Yorkshire National Park. Email peggy@stjohnslynchburg.org if you are interested in joining us for this exciting trip!
