Volunteer at Lynchburg Grows

In November of 2006, St John’s adopted Greenhouse #8 at the old Schenkel greenhouses, now Lynchburg Grows, to refurbish the greenhouse and plant, weed, and harvest vegetables to donate to the Miller Home, Miriam’s House, Parkview Mission, food pantries, Daily Bread, and Salvation Army.

Over 225 volunteers have worked in the greenhouse. Today it is beautiful and produces a wealth of food and comradery.

We are looking for small groups to adopt-a-bed to commit to planting, weeding, and harvesting. Today there is a core group who need assistance.

This is not a daily commitment. Watering is done automatically.

There will be informative tours (30 minutes) on February 25th at 10:30 am and February 26th at 2 pm at Lynchburg Grows, 1339 Englewood Street. https://www.lynchburggrows.org
